Our Support
We offer on-site support, as well as individualized support to residents of our program. Staff are available to help residents develop their goals and then help them accomplish them, whether it is going to school, going to a social program, or developing a wellness plan.
Residents participate in house meetings and use this time to develop house guidelines, organize household chores and to plan social recreation activities. Over the last year residents went on a number of interesting outings, including visits to Toronto Island, the Royal Ontario Museum, Niagara Falls an outdoor centre in Haliburton, theatre and music venues, community festivals and so on..
Our Homes
Hillholm House
This house is situated in the Forest Hill community and offers rent-geared-to-income permanent housing for adult mental health consumers. There are currently five women and five men living at the house. The program is based on the cooperative effort of all residents to take part in the management of their home. Residents take part in all aspects of running a home. The program offers medium support, daily and on-call.
Beverly House
Beverley House is a supported rooming house for women, opened in 2002. This was made possible by funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care under the Homelessness Initiative. This program offers high-support daily, overnight and on-call. The program provides permanent housing to women who have a history of homelessness and are eligible for Ontario Disability Allowance or Ontario Works. Rent is calculated based on the type of financial assistance the individual receives. Every resident is expected to contribute to the food plan. A hot dinner is provided by staff and residents make their own breakfast and lunch.
*Please note that neither of the houses is wheelchair-accessible.
